About

Yub Hub is a home for Ewok fans — a place to celebrate the characters, stories, and spirit of the forest moon of Endor. It exists both as a fan hub and as the heart of the Yub Nub campaign, with a clear call to action: to support the return of Ewoks to Star Wars through a respectful, positive petition to Disney and Lucasfilm. This site brings together nostalgia, fandom, and hope that there is still room in the galaxy for these beloved characters.

The roots of this project are deeply personal. As a child, I was once given a box full of Star Wars toys. I hadn’t seen Star Wars and didn’t know who the characters were, but I was immediately drawn to the small action figures that looked like bears. They stood out — expressive, different, and somehow more approachable than the others. Those figures sparked a curiosity long before I understood the universe they belonged to.

Not long after, my mum took me to the local corner shop to rent a video. On the shelf was The Caravan of Courage, which I chose believing it was Star Wars itself. From that moment, I was hooked. That experience led me to Return of the Jedi, the Ewok animated series, and a lifelong affection for Ewoks and their place in Star Wars. Yub Hub exists to honour that feeling — the joy of discovery, the warmth of Endor, and the belief that Ewoks still belong in the stories we tell.

Paths Back to Endor

Below are a selection of story ideas that could reintroduce Ewoks into future Star Wars projects, across film, animation, and television.

  1. Return to Endor (Made-for-TV Film)
A follow-up television film in which Cindel returns to the forest moon of Endor as an adult, seeking to reconnect with her past. Her journey leads her back to Wicket and the Ewoks, exploring themes of memory, home, and the enduring bond between humans and the people of Endor.
  2. A New Animated Ewok Series
A modern animated television series focused on Ewok life on Endor. Designed to appeal to both new audiences and long-time fans, the series could balance adventure, humour, and heart, while expanding Ewok culture, traditions, and stories.
  3. An Ewok Jedi Character
The introduction of a new Ewok character who is sensitive to the Force. This character could appear in animation or live action, offering a fresh perspective on what it means to be a Jedi and showing that the Force connects all life, regardless of size or origin.
  4. Tales of the Jedi: An Ewok Episode
A standalone episode of Tales of the Jedi featuring Ewok characters, either from the distant past or a lesser-known corner of the galaxy. This would allow for a focused, character-driven story without long-term continuity risk.
  5. A Return to Endor in an Existing Series
A single episode within an existing live-action or animated Star Wars series in which the main characters land on Endor. This could serve as a meaningful cameo and a visual reminder that the forest moon — and its inhabitants — remain part of the galaxy.
  6. Spacefaring Ewoks
A story following a small group of Ewoks who have left Endor and taken to the stars. Their adventures unfold aboard a starship built with a distinctive wooden, tribal aesthetic, blending Ewok craftsmanship with galactic technology as they explore the wider galaxy.

Why Ewoks Matter

  1. They helped bring down the Empire

Using ingenuity, teamwork, and an intimate knowledge of their world, the Ewoks played a decisive role in the Battle of Endor. Their actions helped turn the tide against a technologically superior enemy and ensured the fall of the Empire’s last stronghold.

  2. They thrive without advanced technology

Ewoks demonstrate that survival and victory do not depend on machines alone. Through craftsmanship, traps, and clever strategy, they prove that intelligence and adaptability can rival even the most advanced military forces.

  3. They are deeply connected to ancient magic and relics

Ewok culture includes powerful spiritual traditions and artefacts, such as the Sunstar–Moonstar, regarded in Ewok lore as one of the most potent relics in the galaxy. This connection hints at a form of power older than the Jedi and the Sith.

  4. They are fearless defenders of their home

Despite their size, Ewoks are fierce and determined warriors when Endor is threatened. Their courage comes not from conquest, but from protecting their families, their forests, and their way of life.

  5. They embody the idea that the Force touches all life

Ewoks remind us that heroism and destiny are not reserved for grand figures or powerful empires. Their presence reinforces a core Star Wars theme: that the galaxy is shaped by ordinary beings rising to extraordinary moments.

  6. They balance humour, heart, and danger

Ewoks bring warmth and levity to Star Wars without undermining its stakes. They can be playful and welcoming one moment, and deadly serious the next — a rare balance that makes them memorable.

  7. They represent community over individual glory

Ewok society values cooperation, shared responsibility, and collective survival. Their victories are never about a single hero, but about many small acts working together.

  8. They are guardians of one of the galaxy’s most iconic worlds

The forest moon of Endor is inseparable from Ewok culture. Through them, Endor becomes more than a location — it becomes a living, breathing home worth protecting.

  9. They offer stories unlike any other in Star Wars

Ewoks allow for grounded, mythic, and folklore-inspired storytelling. Their perspective opens the door to stories about nature, spirituality, and survival that feel distinct within the Star Wars universe.
